Ovation Red Carol Theme Song 2011 Review

The song starts with Yemi Alade, then ICE Prince enters with a small rap, looking at his Black Berry, which I think is a very nice damage control mechanism for his Team Westwood "Freestyle" stunt, quick question though, does Ice Prince have a crush on Genevieve. 

Then enters Waje with a lovely rendition of her verse and the chorus, then YQ enters, followed by Usher look-alike Dipp, who maims his part with finesse where that guy sef. Wizkid's rendition was very superb and fit him very well, as the youngest there, I think listing his wish list for Santa. 

I didn't feel Segun Obe's part even though it wasn't bad at all. Chidinma, the project fame Barbie almost broke my monitor screen with her voice, she delivered well. 

Then IBK dropped some sturvings, then diva extraordinaire Eva with her over the roof Mohawk hairstyle showed herself. Jaywon blew my mind with the Yoruba accent and Yoruba infusion; I love the bit change at that point. 

Then Mailaka entered with a more concentrated Yoruba infusion which gave the song a lot of texture and richness with his dancing. 

Then Shayne enters the bit, I just like his attitude, didn't really feel his verse though. Ugly killed his part, I liked it. 

Yemi Alade ushered Karat Kid who did his thing.

Sir Shina Peters is king, see him giving moves now, I didn't get the Yoruba sha but his verse made brain.

Review of Essence's song - Slide

My feelings for Essence still hasn't changed even though it's been long since I last watched any of her videos or listened to her songs, which is about five or six years ago or there about. But what is this, I don't even know who to blame, whether Clarence the director or Essence. The video looked too scattered jo like an amateur's job.

I'm sure very soon now they'll say that's the effect they were looking for, or that it is a spoof or something. Don't even let me start with the song lyrics.

I can use it as incantation because she was literally saying the same thing over and over again.

Don't get me wrong oh, the video is okay generally speaking, but from an old timer like Essence I expected better, and that's without adding the fact that our music/video industry has gone hay-wire in an awesome way.

The lyrics shifts from telling people to slide to the left, then to the right, then to the floor, then stop. Then she instructs us to keep our body's moving, then we shouldn't stop, we shouldn't stop, we shouldn't stop, then maybe when she's tired, she now instructs us to stop.

Then she continues giving instructions to bring it down, bring it down. If this was a soundtrack to an exercise video work out she is releasing, I could have related with it.

On a less related note sha, I think she's still got her looks. She looks really good in the video, sexy shape and facially good. But what can I say, with the exercise song she released, let me even buy the album and listen to the other songs there.

Banky W's new single, SETTING P

Is it just me or did it seem as if Banky did not put any effort in his new single, SETTING P, click on the title to listen to the song. I don't know but it just sounded ordinary, not like what I would expect from Banky W.

This is the chorus sha:

Then the song goes on with Banky telling a girl to talk to him, how he's into her, how he wants to trouble her, how she's going to be his lady tonight, and how she should please forgive him for being rude, how he is making a living by pissing of his haters, then the chorus comes up again.




Then he continues with another girl, without delay, how he's the best one for her how he wants to be everything she needs and how she was made to grind of him. Then the spit a couple of words in Yoruba and then the chorus continues.


Then the bridge or something goes like this:

Now that I am reading over what I can't believe I just wrote out, I'm wondering if this was a freestyle or he spent a moment writing it out. Either way, the song is still very okay, but not exceptional.

To me, it's a song that would become every body's favourite with time, not at once. That being said, what does he mean by setting P. Does the P stand for parole, I have no idea but I hope you guys do, and someone would enlighten me.

On an unrelated note, his voice is still as good as it always was.
